From Sword Forum Online's Bladesmith Café:
I bought Wayne's booklet and video a couple of years ago. I highly recommend it. The booklet has a lot of very useful information and would be great for beginner to intermediate level smiths. It covers steel specs, metallurgy of the forged blade, heat treating, the construction of a gas forge, and more. At the time I bought it, the booklet was 32 pages of very good info. It may be larger now. The video is 124 minutes long and covers anvils, hammers, welding billets, etc. and steps you through the complete construction of a knife from forging to staining and finishing the handle. I used Wayne's techniques to make the cable (wire rope) Damascus blades shown on my web site. I don't mean to make this sound like a commercial, but I really was happy with the booklet and the video.
