CITY PARK - located at the East End of Lake Cadillac. Park area includes picnic tables, boat dock and flower gardens. During the summer, concerts and other activities are scheduled in the park. LAKESHORE PARK - located on the northeast side of Lake Cadillac. This park provides picnic areas with tables and grills as well as play areas. KENWOOD PARK - located on the northwest side of Lake Cadillac. This is the largest park with 80 acres. Facilities include picnic areas, beach, and boat launching, play areas and trails. DIGGINS HILL RECREATION AREA - located on the northeast side of Cadillac at the end of North Street. This 23-acre site includes four tennis courts, baseball diamond and a large multipurpose play area for football, soccer, softball and other sports. LINCOLN FIELD - located on the northeast side of Cadillac. Field is next to Lincoln School on Ford Street. Area includes a lighted softball diamond, two tennis courts, four outside basketball courts, practice football field, cinder track, two practice ball diamonds. MILLS FIELD - located next to the Middle School on Chestnut Street. Field includes one hardball diamond and one softball diamond. SENIOR HIGH TENNIS COURTS -located next to the Senior High School on Haynes Street. Six tennis Courts are available. FRANKLIN SCHOOL - located on the southeast side of Cadillac at the East End of Howard Street. The facilities include two tennis courts, outdoor basketball courts, and baseball diamonds and playground equipment. COMMUNITY FOREST AREA - located north of Cadillac on U.S. 131. The City of Cadillac and the Cadillac Area Schools jointly own over 360 acres of forestland. Area is excellent for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and picnics. CADILLAC COMMUNITY SCHOOL RECREATIONAL PROGRAM The City of Cadillac and the Cadillac Area Public Schools jointly provide the Cadillac area with an educational and recreational program for all ages and interest. The Community School office is at 201 Granite Street (775-9380). Sites - 19 Canoeing No Swimming Fishing - C BAXTER BRIDGE - 12 miles NW of Manton via M-42 & Rd.No. 31. Special: on Manistee River, canoe group campsites. Sites - 15 Canoeing No Swimming Fishing - C OLD US-131 - 6 miles north of Manton on US-131. Special: on Manistee river, canoe group campsites. Sites - 19 Canoeing No Swimming Fishing - C SPRING LAKE - 1.5 miles SW of Fife Lake via US-131. Special: access canal to Fife Lake Sites - 32 Swimming - 2 Fishing - W CHASE CREEK - 7.5 mile NE of Manton via US-131, No. 12 Rd. & No. 45-1/2 Rd. Special: on Manistee River, canoe group campsites. Sites - 29 Canoeing No Swimming Fishing - C SUNRISE LAKE - 6 miles east of LeRoy via Sunset Lake R. & 15 Mile Rd. Special: good trout fishing. Sites - 17 Boating Swimming - 2 Fishing - C/W CARRIEVILLE - 3 miles west of Luther via Old M-63 & Kings Hwy. Special: on Little Manistee River. Sites - 26 No Swimming Fishing - C FEDERAL FACILITIES MANISTEE NATIONAL FOREST - west and south of the Cadillac area. Nearly one-half million acres of recreational area with a wide range of activities and facilities. HEMLOCK - 3 miles west of Cadillac. (1.3 miles from M-55, M-115 jct. then west 1.3 miles right on Pole Road). Facilities include: 15 paved parking spurs, 2 pit toilet buildings, 2 vault toilet buildings, 15 fire rings, 15 tables, 1 hand pump, 1 drinking fountain. Camping, boat landing, fishing, no swimming. The campground adjoins Lake Mitchell. RAVINE - 8 miles west of Cadillac (9 miles W. of M-55, M-115 jct.) 6 parking spurs, 2 pit toilet buildings, 1 picnic shelter, 8 fire rings, 6 tables, a hand pump. Camping, picnicking, no swimming. Campground adjoins the Pine River. PETERSON BRIDGE - 17 miles west of Cadillac. (South 1.5 miles from M-37 and M-55 jct.) 20 paved parking spurs, 6 walk-in sites, paved interior road, 4 pit toilet buildings, 1 flush toilet building, 26 fire rings, 26 tables, 1 hand pump, 3 water hydrants. Camping, canoeing. The campground adjoins the Pine River. SEATON CREEK - 19 miles northwest of Cadillac (7 miles southwest of Mesick). 17 parking spurs, graveled interior road, 4 pit toilet buildings, 17 fire rings, 1 grill, 17 tables, and 1 hand pump. Camping, picnicking. The campground adjoins Seaton Creek and is at the upper end of the backwater of Hodenpyle Dam Pond on the Big Manistee River. DORNER LAKE - 24 miles west of Cadillac (2 miles southeast of Wellston). 8 unpaved parking spurs, unpaved interior road, 2 vault toilet buildings, 8 fire rings, 8 tables, 1 hand pump. Adjoining facility is a boat landing. Boating, camping. Dorner Lake has 49 surface acres. The mid-section of Dorner Lake is National Forest but both ends border private land. BEAR TRACK - 26 miles west of Cadillac (About 6-1/2 miles west of Irons). 20 graveled parking spurs, graveled interior road, 4 vault toilet buildings, 20 fire rings, 20 tables, 1 hand pump. Boating, camping. The campground adjoins the Little Manistee River. UDELL ROLLWAYS - 27 miles west of Cadillac (About 8 miles northwest of Wellston). From M-55 at Udell, turn N on Horseshoe Bend Road 1.7 miles. 23 graveled parking spurs, graveled interior road, 2 vault toilet buildings, 1 flush toilet building, 23 fire rings, 23 tables, 4 drinking fountains. Camping, picnicking. The campground overlooks the Manistee River but the river is not easily accessible due to a high, steep bank. DRIFTWOOD VALLEY - 23 miles west of Cadillac (About 4 miles east of Irons). 21 graveled parking spurs, graveled interior road, 4 vault toilet buildings, 25 fire rings, 25 tables, 1 hand pump. Adjoining facility is a group-camping area. The campground ad-joins the Little Manistee River. SAND LAKE - 21 miles west of Cadillac (About 1 miles south of Dublin). 45 paved parking spurs, paved interior road, 2 vault toilet buildings, 2 flush toilet buildings, 1 change house, 45 fire rings, 45 tables, 7 drinking fountains. Adjoining facilities: boating, picnicking, swimming. PINE LAKE - 24 miles west of Cadillac (About 3-1/2 miles south of Wellston). 12 graveled parking spurs, graveled interior road, 2 vault toilet buildings, 12 fire rings, 12 tables, 1 hand pump. Adjoining facility: boating. Pine Lake has 156 surface acres.
