Course Description: This course will clarify TQM processes and
procedures and demonstrate how they can be used in the classroom. It is an introductory course to teachers
interested in implementing total quality management (TQM) in their classrooms. Topics will include the TQM approaches of
such quality experts as Dr. W. Edwards Deming and Dr. Philip Crosby; how TQM
works with students, especially the "at-risk" population; specific
ways to integrate the specifics of TQM tools into the classroom (based on
modifications of the Malcolm Baldridge Criteria); and
conditions that are necessary for successfully implementing TQM in the
classroom.
