These pictures are from Kyle's and my trip to Yosemite National Park this
summer. Sorry for the poor picture quality.... Damn Kodak disposable cameras.
You know, everywhere you turn in the park, especially around the camping
areas, you are being cautioned against leaving out anything that could attract
bears, even in your car or tent/cabin. So here is an example of what happens when you don't listen. This
idiot even parked his car right smack dab in front of the "Bear Warning"
sign. I know it's hard to see, but the passenger window was ripped out and
the rear seat is pulled up. A bag of chips in the trunk started the
ordeal.
The east end of Yosemite Valley,
as seen from near the abse of Glacier Point as we started the hike up.
I've no clue what that odd mark is in the photo.
The Upper and Lower Yosemite
Falls from about the same point on the trail.
And here's the Valley
from about two thirds of the way up the trail.
The Yosemite Falls from,
once again, about the same vantage point. This is also about the same
point you really begin to wish you were a little closer to the top
already.
A shot of the Vernal & Nevada
Falls from atop Glacier point. We did the hike to the top of these falls
the first afternoon we were there.... despite the great views atop Glacier,
that hike was much more interesting (and refreshing, thanks to the Mist
Trail).
Half Dome. "Maybe next time."
The hike up the backside, that is.
