Pool Closing Suggestions
For Users of Simplicity or Regular Chemistry

POOL:
1. Remove leaves needles and other solids.
2. Vacuum pool - use pump to waste to vacuum & lower water level.
3. Continue lowering water until 6" - 8" below plastic fittings.
4. When you are ready to cover your pool use the following chemicals but never mix 2 different chemicals in the same pail:
       a. 2 bags of "Fast Shock".
       b. 2 gals. Of liquid chlorine per 10,000 gals.
       c. I quart of 'Wam-O' algaecide.
       d. I quart of "See-Clear".
6. Mix the chemicals in the water for 10 minutes, using whatever method to insure mixture.
    It is important to add the chemicals just before you are ready to cover the pool.
7. Cover the pool and add water on top of the cover when it is in place.

FILTER:
1. Remove the drain plug.
2. Remove the pressure gauge and shake the water out it.
3. Sand Filter:
       a. Move the valve handle to the "winter" position
       b. Cover or take inside.
       c. Remember, change the sand every 2 years.
           If this is the second season then remove the sand in the fall.
4. Earth Filter:
       a. Separate the tanks.
       b. Rinse and inspect all grids.
       c. Soak the grids in a acid bath. We will do this for $10.
       d. Store filter inside and leave an air space between the upper & lower tank.

PUMP:
1. Remove all drain plugs.
2. Turn upside down to remove all water.
3. Remove cover and store indoors.
 

HEATER:
1. Disconnect lines and blow water out
2. Open drain
3. Remove pressure switch (old style)
 

CLORINATOR:
1. Remove tablets
2. Disconnect lines
3. Drain water.
 

Light:
1. Disconnect power at the light
2. Remove retaining ring at the back of the light and remove the light ad store indoors.
