see yesterday     see tomorrow     go back to schedule

Alexa woke up sometime early this morning and came to our bed.  Jodie found her there later.  Paul and Jodie went to their separate jobs.  Jodie dropped Alexa off at school.  Day care has "Academy" in its name so that's why they call it school.  Alexa is actually in pre-school now that she's a big girl.

We ate lunch at McD's before heading to Home Depot to buy lumber to replace the railings on the porch.  Last fall, Paul removed the closed in barriers but didn't get them replaced before winter.  The city isn't too happy about that and have threatened a fine.  It's rather chilly so we hope to do some work on the railings tomorrow.  It will match, or at least be very similar to, what's on the sides of the stairs.  Most places a railing isn't needed unless the porch or deck is over 36" off the ground.  Their porch is about 40".

Before we left for Home Depot, Lily Cat "asked" for food.  I couldn't tell from her dish if she had canned food earlier today or not.  Joe said there was already two empty cans in the recycling but we couldn't find a third one.  Her dry food container was empty when we got here so we knew she didn't have that.  So I opened a can, put it in her dish, & she ate most of it.  I found out later from Jodie that she had eaten a can of food in the morning.  We were conned by a cat.  We bought her a bag of dry food while we were out.  I gave her a small sample of that when we got back ... just a little to make sure it suited her taste buds.  She was pretty well stuffed by evening.

Dinner was at Steak 'N Shake.  Jodie had a coupon for a second milk shake free.  Alexa had mac 'n cheese, applesauce & a small milk shake.  I had a guacamole burger.  Yummy!  The rest had other kinds of sandwiches.
